Inventory
Each stakeholder agency, company, or group owns, operates, maintains or plans ITS systems in the region. The ITS Architecture inventory is a list of "elements" that represent all existing and planned ITS systems in a region as well as non-ITS systems that provide information to or get information from the ITS systems. The �elements� indicated as planned does not automatically commit an agency to deploy a specific ITS element or system and rather describes that the region has an interest in the function. The following is a summary table of elements and a description of its role in the region as it applies to the ITS architecture.

California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection | California Department of Forestry provides fire and protection to over 31 million acres of California's privately-owned wild lands as well as 36 counties in California. The California Department of Forestry provides multiple emergency services including medical aids; hazardous material spills; swift water rescues; search and rescue missions; civil disturbances; train wrecks; floods, earthquakes and more. |
California DMV Vehicle Credentialing System | California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) system which manages statewide commercial freight, long-haul rail, and local vehicle registrations. Two other pertinent duties of the DMV include recording ownership (certificate of title) of the vehicles DMV registers and maintaining driving records (accidents and convictions) of licensed drivers. For the purposes of this ITS architecture, the DMV manages the commercial vehicle credentialing system for the State. In this function, DMV works cooperatively with the California Highway Patrol to administer and enforce commercial vehicle credentialing and safety inspection programs. |
California Office of Emergency Management (OEM) | California Office of Emergency Services for the state that provides centralized emergency management in the case of threats, natural disasters, or other emergencies that warrant its activation. |

Caltrans D9 TMC | District 9 of Caltrans encompasses the central-east portion of the State with headquarters in Bishop. The District is responsible for all of the State Highway System in Inyo and Mono counties. It is responsible for maintenance, permitting, traffic operations, planning, local assistance, and intergovernmental review for northern San Bernardino and eastern Kern Counties, through agreement with District 8 (San Bernardino) and District 6 (Fresno). This inventory element represents coordination between the Caltrans/CHP Central Valley TMC and Caltrans District 9. |
Caltrans Hazardous Waste Management | The Caltrans Hazardous Waste Management program provides statewide assistance to districts with managing contaminants and wastes encountered on highway projects and Caltrans properties. |
